Justin Grinage

Justin Grinage studies racism in education. His research focuses on how curriculum and teaching can engender or limit anti-racism, including how popular anti-racist books have largely been unsuccessful in producing racial justice after the murder of George Floyd; how black youth heal from racial trauma amidst police violence; how white youth develop their anti-racism; and how K-12 teachers can have more effective classroom race dialogues. Dr. Grinage publishes in leading education journals, has co-authored a book on white supremacy in education, and is currently working on an ethnographic book project investigating the effects of racial trauma in schools.
